If you budget for some discretionary spending, and stick to your budget, it doesn't make a difference if your idea of "fun" involves collecting used celebrity Band-Aids, or racing office furniture. (As long as your fun doesn't cause personal/environmental harm or interfere with the rights of others.) You just have to acknowledge that every time you spend your money on "fun" you are choosing NOT to spend it on something else. It all comes down to a matter of choices and priorities.
